PERFORMS GENERAL BILLING, COLLECTIONS AND SECRETARIAL FUNCTIONS. Responsibilities include: Assist Billing Dept with all data entry functions such as – EOB, payments and client data entry.  Scanning documents to client chart and copying/mailing records.  Knowledgeable of various insurance plans and billing requirements is a plus.  Must be able to communicate clearly with insurance companies, consumers and peers.    

Assist and serve a back up to receptionist for Administration office.   Greeting and directing all visitors at the Administration office, answering multi-line phone system by triaging calls and transferring to appropriate staff and locations.  Responsible for daily distribution of incoming mail and electronic deposit of all checks received.  Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Must have good communication skills, well organized, self-starter and be able to work well in a fast paced environment.  Knowledge in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, along with experience in medical practice management system and basic computer operational skills is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 6 months – 1 year medical billing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and a good driving record
