This position is working in an outpatient Mental Health Clinic.  Performs moderately complex Screenings and Intakes, collects data for initial assessment along with collecting data for Utilization and Quality Management.  Work involves triaging, determining eligibility, verifying insurance, enrolling clients with MCOs, making referrals, scheduling client appointments and performing the initial diagnostic assessment.  Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Schedule and perform intake assessments of new clients in a accordance with their benefit plan and process all related paperwork and assessments according to internal procedures.  Process all Intake Screenings according to internal procedures. Verify payer source for all clients prior to scheduling of appointment.  Obtain clinical paperwork from discharging facility prior to scheduling of appointment.  Provide back up for AC requests as needed according to internal procedures.


Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed marriage and Family Therapist).


Must have a valid Texas Drivers License.
