This position is working in an outpatient Mental Health Clinic.  Performs moderately complex Screenings and Intakes both within the community, and at all LPS clinic locations. Work involves triaging, determining eligibility, verifying insurance, enrolling clients with MCOs, making referrals, scheduling client appointments and performing the initial diagnostic assessment. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conducts PASRR evaluations for clients being admitted to local nursing facilities. Caseworker must comply with internal procedures as well as state guidelines for services. Travel to nursing facility/referring entity is required. Schedule and perform intake assessments of new clients in accordance with their benefit plan and process all related paperwork and assessments according to internal proceduresBack up aftercare needs for new and current clients, including, insurance verification, coordinating with discharging facility, scheduling of appointments within required time frames and obtaining clinical paperwork from discharging facility.


Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a mental health related field; one to two years related experience and/or training. Must be a Qualified Mental Health Professional.  Master’s degree preferred. Must have valid Texas Driver’s License in good standing.


Must have a valid Texas Drivers License.
