SUMMARY

Seeking a full time chemical dependency counselor, LCDC or LPC licensure is required; master’s degree preferred; chemical dependency counseling and group experience required.  Will be working three evenings per week in McKinney

Performs complex social services and counseling work.  Responsibilities include: providing counseling (including CBT), chemical dependency group and individual services, service coordination, skills training, and diagnostic services to appropriate clients.  Ability to complete detailed, yet concise progress notes on all services provided.  May perform supervisory duties or serve in a lead capacity as needed.  Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide chemical dependency group and individual services to assigned clients.  Ensure proper treatment authorizations are in place; provide crisis intervention servic3es to clients as medically necessary by telephone or face-to-face interventions; ensure accuracy and completeness of billed services;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES include the following.

Knowledge and experience in providing direct client services to individuals with mental illness; knowledge of the social services system and the ability to connect clients with appropriate resources.  Ability to write clearly and professionally.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in counseling or related field.  Must be licensed in the state of Texas a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid Texas Driver’s license.
