SUMMARY

Direct and control the development and fundraising activities of the agency.  Serve as Staff Liaison to LifePath Systems Foundation.  Spearhead re-branding efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Directing and controlling the development and fundraising activities of the agency by: Creating a strategic plan and fundraising; strategy for development efforts; Creating a budget for the plan; Creating and proofing marketing material; Spearheading re-branding efforts; Developing a strategy to create, cultivate, and maintain donor base of local foundations, corporations, individuals and organizations interested in the agency mission; Activating solicitation of funds; conducting prospect research; Developing year-end giving campaign and annual fundraising event; Investigating and enrolling in federal employee giving and business giving campaigns; Donor follow-up and thanks; Establishing electronic donor management system and training self and CEO assistant on said system; Creating website donation page content; Community Outreach; Establishing strong working relationship with community partners, donors and potential donors; Making community presentations upon request; Developing press releases and regularly issuing to local media and community partners; Creating and utilizing marketing tools including social media, web, print, annual reports and email at least bi-annual newsletters; Special event oversight as directed.  Staff Liaison to LPS Foundation by: Assisting with identification and recruitment of Foundation Board members, Working with Foundation Chair to schedule meetings, create agenda and make assignments to implement Foundation activities; Reporting on Foundation activities and successes to CEO and LPS Board of Trustees

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to coordinate and manage awareness and fundraising events. Demonstrated skills in preparing grant applications and oversight of grant development process.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public and potential donors.  Excellent skills in communicating verbally and in writing with employees, Board and the community.  Knowledge of fundraising techniques.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general agency data reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and to complete grant applications.   Project management to include planning, development, and implementation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in human services, fundraising, journalism, marketing, or related field.  Five years experience fundraising for a non-profit in an increasing position of responsibility and accomplishment; Preference for certified fundraising professional.
